Water-sports
Mauritius offers excellent facilities for water sports enthusiast. Windsurfing,
sailing, snorkeling, and water skiing can all be organised by our representative
in Mauritius.
Deep sea fishing
Mauritius is ideal for deep-sea fishing. You may fish for the blue marlin
all types of sharks, the yellow-fin tuna, the skipjack tuna, the sail
fish and the barracuda.
Between November to May, these predators feed close to the island where
the bottom falls to 70 metres just a mile from the shore.
Diving (near-by)
Diving can be organised with our representative in Mauritius. Deep-sea-diving
instruction is available too. Marvellous coral gardens are found at
a depth of 25 metres. The waters around Mauritius are home to over a
thousand different species of fish. Collection of shells, corals and
fishes are generally prohibited.
From beginners to experts, all qualifications
are recognised. Offering wreck dives, deep dives, night dives and reef
dives.
We offer fully equipped diving centres. Diving lessons can be taken
before to initiate oneself with underwater exploration. There are 23
scuba diving centres over the island.
If you are staying at Flic en Flac as
an individual holidaymaker there’s no need miss out.
More information can be obtained from the FLic en Flac Tourist Office,
where they offer a variety of excursions, including, catamaran, parasailing,
deep-sea fishing and submarines.

From Indian fabrics, basket work ranging from table mats to hand-bags
of all shapes and sizes, macramé work, pottery, jewelry and locally-made
sweaters of high quality are offered by the various shops around hte
island. Some shops offer duty-free facilities on electronic goods, camera,
watches and perfumes. A wide selection of exclusive handcraft 18kt gold
jewelry, diamonds, precious stones and pearls are also available.
